Today is an important day, that marks the end of my first career which lasted 6+ years. Apart from the potential loss of a few friends out of my colleagues and clients (I'm a lazy bum who do not try to keep in touch with old friends deliberately), I do not feel any regrets or depression leaving the job and the place. I guess it is not a good fit for me with all the meaningless procedural red-tapes, office politics and the general lacking of good leadership and team cohesion. Bottomline: I'm happy to have left.
My new job starts next week, and I look forward to it as it is something very, very different from what I did for the past years.
